the noise
a whoomph and a crash
tell her the roof is falling in
tell her her world is falling apart
she panics
walks through the kitchen
into the bathroom
lays down, breaths heavy but shallow
her safe place
can someone please
tell my dog
it's just snow sliding off our metal roof
