offered a toke at recess, he accepts
but coughs like a newbie
just as Taylor, the girl he likes, walks by
in science class, Mr Taylor gives him the test he skipped on friday
then, a good friend having a bad day, is sent to the office
the friend is already on "last warning"
on the way home
he realizes his pockets are out of smokes
and out of money
he opens the fridge
empty
and his Mom asks, "what happened at school today"
