we hiked a trail today
and one of our crew said
this is my favourite time for waterfalls
but there was no waterfall to be seen
we'd passed it several minutes before
i asked him to explain
when its not so intense on the ears
when its in the distance a bit, soothing
between the big events, before and after
these moments are life, no expectations
these are the moments
that if freedom was lost tomorrow
we would spend nights dreaming of
