vehicles pulling onto shoulder
the jaws of life arrive on scene
but the jaws of death just left
is there some new understanding
some knowledge of the bad things in this world
the medic moves from joanne
nothing left to do there
to her daughter
so much blood
but
the medic is relieved
all mother's blood
